about

Throwing Stuff’s latest single ‘No Gods, No Kings’ sees the hardcore punks rally against Britain’s monarchy, released just as King Charles III coronation serves as tinsel dangled by the ruling classes, an extravagant distraction from the injustices that pollute the world today.

The band – known for their fast-paced, raw, and aggressive songs filled with politically charged lyrics – release the track on the eve of the British coronation as a statement of rebellion against the established order and a demand for a more egalitarian society.

“I don’t believe in no god and I don’t want to save the king”

An alternative national anthem, ‘No Gods, No Kings’ captures the bands frustration of a nation whose government pumps millions in public money into a pompous coronation while regular people struggle to afford to heat their homes.

lyrics

Trying to find some reasons to be cheerful
Losing the will, lost faith in the people
History’s forgotten daughters and sons
We’re buried, dead and gone

And I don't believe in no god
And I don't wanna save the king
The land that you're born on
It don't mean a fucking thing

And we can't rewrite the history books
But we can etch out the future
They've fucked the road that's left for us
It's held together with twisted sutures

The land that you're born on, don't mean a thing
You can try, and live your life, but you'll never change the pendulums swing
